European Year for Development

EU development year

2015 has been designated as the year for development.

EU development aid goes to around 150 countries in the world. In a Eurobarometer survey among 28,000 Europeans 85% believe that it is important to help people in developing countries  Most people also agree that tackling poverty in these countries should be a main priority for the EU and that more aid should be given.

The Stage: training opportunities for graduates

The European Commission offers two five-month periods of in-service training (stages) for university graduates from the member states of the European Union and to a limited number of nationals from non-member countries. These training periods entail work experience in one of the Commission’s departments and run from 1 March and 1 October each year.

The deadline for applications for October 2015 to February 2016 is 30/1/15

Closing down of the PreLex website

As of 15 December 2014, PreLex, the website for EU legislative procedures and decision-making processes between institutions, is closed. The information is now available on the EUR-Lex website, under the ‘Legislative procedures’ tab. EUR-Lex is thus the single access point to all legal acts, including their whole life cycle from the very first proposal up to publication. If you have any links or bookmarks, please update them.
